SafeKit by Eviden

SafeKit is an all-in-one, SANless high availability and application clustering software by Eviden (an Atos brand). It provides real-time file replication, automatic failover, and network load balancing for any application on Windows and Linux — on-premises or in the cloud — without shared storage (SAN/NAS). Two core cluster modules: mirror.safe (synchronous replication + failover between 2 servers) and farm.safe (network load balancing + failover across N servers).

Edge & OT first: SafeKit is particularly suited for edge computing and OT/ICS environments — it runs on standard x86 hardware, requires no shared storage, no dedicated cluster hardware, and no Windows Server Datacenter license. Minimal ongoing administration makes it ideal for remote sites, air-gapped networks, and SCADA/BMS/physical security deployments where IT staff is limited or on-site expertise unavailable.

Licensing: Commercial software. Free 30-day trial available (no credit card). Perpetual or subscription licenses.

Minimum requirements: Two standard x86 servers (physical or virtual), Windows Server 2019/2022/2025 or RHEL 8/9 / Ubuntu 24.04, 1 Gbps LAN for replication. No SAN, no shared disk, no special OS edition required. Full technical specifications and sizing constraints → RFP/RFI Technical Reference.

Note: Formerly known as Evidian SafeKit. Technical resources and URLs may still reference the Evidian domain.

Interactive AI assistant: The SafeKit AI chat at safekit.eviden.com can answer pre-sales questions, guide cluster configuration, help select the right module (mirror vs. farm), and assist with troubleshooting — without requiring a support contract.

Competitive Positioning

SafeKit key differentiators vs. competing HA solutions: no SAN required, no Windows Server Datacenter license, no Linux cluster OS expertise (Pacemaker/Corosync/DRBD), no dedicated hardware. Single software package covers replication + failover + load balancing. Suited for 2-node edge deployments where Pacemaker or WSFC would be over-complex.

Edge & OT Solutions

SafeKit is designed for deployment at the edge: no SAN, no shared storage, no complex cluster OS — just two standard servers and a LAN. This makes it the natural fit for remote sites, air-gapped OT networks, and embedded appliance-style deployments where Pacemaker or WSFC would be operationally impractical.
